Women's Mission Experience in Italy-April 2017
Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 01:24PM

We are eager to make sure that all RCA and CRC women know about our women's global mission experience to visit JJ and Tim TenClay in Palermo, Italy this April 2017.  There are a few spots remaining in the group and we'd love to fill them with women who have not previously heard about this trip.

This journey will be a wonderful opportunity for women in your congregation to learn more about the global refugee crisis and engage first hand with women and children in southern Italy alongside our wonderful missionaries, JJ and Tim, and their two young daughters.

The trip focuses on JJ’s vital ministry to refugees, migrants, and other populations on the margins of society. JJ works to meet the spiritual, physical, and socioeconomic needs of the more than 500,000 refugees and migrants in Sicily. In addition, we’ll be exploring the meaning of Essere Chiesa Insieme (being church together)—of integrating different cultures, traditions, ethnicities, and languages into a single worshiping community—with Pastor Tim.  Travelers will return home inspired and equipped to articulate their learnings and inspire fellow congregants to consider the possibilities for community outreach and engagement.

The trip will be led by Ms. Lesley Mazzotta along with Rev. Megan Hodgin.  Both leaders have led international women-focused trips and are passionate about this type of experiential learning in the global setting.

JJ and Megan are both listed in the RCA's recently published Refugee Response guide.  Click on the link to learn more: https://www.rca.org/resources/refugees/refugee-response-11-rca-members-who-can-help

Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  Download the printable flier here or view it at: https://www.rca.org/women/womens-mission-experience-sicily-italy.

We appreciate your support in spreading the word and covet your prayers as the group prepares in the coming weeks.
