Invitation to Join a Next Generation & Discipleship Learning Community

Hello Churches of the Regional Synod of Mid-Atlantics,

I have begun a conversation with Jill VerSteeg, Denominational Director of Transformational Engagement, about forming a Discipleship and Next Generation Learning Community in the Mid-Atlantics Region starting in Spring 2018.

The specific details are yet to be determined, but we are putting together a list of churches who may be interested, as we start to get the word out further.  For those unfamiliar, the model for these Learning Communities is to bring together a group of churches a handful of times over the course of 18-24 months to learn, apply, and reflect on new ways that Jesus may be calling us to be the Church.  There is a financial commitment along with the time commitment from a handful of your leaders to attend each session.  Some denominational funds may be available if the cost is prohibitive.  At the end of this message, you will find a very general overview that will be adapted somewhat based on our needs.

If your church or one you know might be interested in making the commitment to join a Discipleship & Next Generation Learning Community starting in 2018, please respond directly to me (swart@nbrc.com) or Jill VerSteeg (jversteeg@rca.orgso that we can keep you in the loop as more information becomes available.

Following Jesus Together!

Rev. Mark Swart, Pastor of Discipleship, North Branch Reformed Church
